The Italian American Museum of Los Angeles presents the sixth annual Taste of Italy, a premiere food and wine event, which will take place on Saturday, October 11th, in downtown Los Angeles.
Of course Baia Pasta will be there and we’ll sample our durum wheat twins with an amatriciana sauce.
Just a few details on the sauce: more than two kilos (= 4 lbs) of cured pork jowl (from a friend in Marin) and 12 Kg of organic tomatoes went into the sauce (plus organic onions and garlic) and 5 pesky hot red peppers from a friend’s garden in Oakland (grown from the seeds my grandma gave me last year).
Now, that’s local….
